The Doctor and Mrs. Vandertramp
also: Bosses who Buy Beer for 400, Alex

A short update. Circumstances call for one.

THERE ARE NO MORE HOT DOGS LEFT IN THE WORLD. I'M ALMOST CERTAIN OF IT.

This Patrick Bertoletti character is the real McCoy. Today in Las Vegas, Bertoletti became the third person on record to consume over 40 hot dogs and buns, consuming a ridiculous 46 in twelve Earth-minutes. That's nearly four a minute. Eating legend Rich Lefevre consumed a very impressive 33, and Mongo Marquez consumed 23 for a steady handle on third.

46!

Bertoletti and Chip Simpson are the first two qualifiers to have their tickets punched for The Big One on July 4th at Coney.

MY BOSS BOUGHT ME BEER TODAY
There are two truths in this world.

One is, I like beer. A lot. Good beer if you've got it.

But I'll drink swill too. I ain't too proud.

Second is, I've got a helluva boss. Two of 'em, actually (it's a ma and pa outfit) but one of them (Pa) thought enough of me to buy me beer. I think his wife wasn't as pleased, but eh :)

I encounter 26 years of age on Saturday (I don't know how I made it this far, really, without me doing something stupid enough to get killed) and as a gesture of kick-ass, my boss decided that I was worthy of eight Budweiser beers that measure 16 ounces each.

In North Carolina, this is very fancy packaging.

And short of a couple hundred bucks, there's no better gift. Unless you're a parent, in which there's a lot better gifts. But fortunately, enough women have avoided me in order to prevent that from happening, so beer still rules. Thanks a million, George.

How many bosses give their subordinates beer?

WRAP IT UP, HOLMES!

Kay Whitmore, circa 1993. (Stanley Cup 100th anniversary patch!)

The Anaheim Ducks and Vancouver Canucks have played four periods of hockey and they are still knotted at 1 goal apiece. Canucks win, and the series moves back to Canada. Anaheim wins, and they'll have more days off until the Conference Finals.

Check that, Anaheim just scored. Weeeeeelllllllllllllllllllll...

Sabres/Rangers tomorrow night, Wings/Sharks over the weekend.

G'night.

Ali Score (Ed Mort) never ceases to amaze me with the hairdo of both collective members of legion of doom at the same time.
